Using Organic Search Engine Optimization to Improve Rankings

by Jen Linnuste 25. January 2010 07:45

Over half of all business websites were designed to attract and sell to the customer, with little or no thought to organic search engine optimization. That means that the majority of business websites are not drawing the traffic they should be from search engines. While word of mouth is great, as is having traffic from other sites recommending you, there’s still no real substitute for being found in the top rankings on Google or one of the other popular search engines.

Often there are just a few simple changes that can be made in order to turn your existing website into one that will attract the search engine spiders while still bringing in people. In fact, when done correctly, your site will draw very targeted traffic, people who are looking to buy what you’re selling. It will also sell them on your product. Essentially, your site needs to be in two different languages, that of the search engines, and that of people who visit it. Just one or the other will result in low conversion rates and sales.

To ensure the best of both worlds, it’s a good idea to look for a professional SEO team that will be able to take your existing website and improve it, making it work for both search engines and people.

Make sure to use organic search engine optimization methods if you want your website to rise in the rankings and stay there. The methods that promise fast traffic are almost always a bad idea, since they could get your site removed from the rankings completely. Stick to clean SEO and natural appearing linkbuilding and you can’t go wrong.
