There seems to be much speculation as to what is actually going on today, so seeing that I can't tweet this then blogging is the next best thing.
This is what the latest word is on what is happening today from Twitter's status blog.
The company says that it is defending against a denial of service attack (DOS), which basically means millions of users are just clicking their refresh pages way to fast.
There are natural DOS attacks and then you also have malicious ones. As it stand right now it is unclear which one this is.
This blog lets users know about planned outages and other issues on Twitter, however this outage was not planned.
It's not clear when the outage began or even when it will end.
Facebook, the social networking site, is also was experiencing slowdowns and lots of error messages.
I guess social media is taking a vacation today!
