Instant Previews Now Available on Google

Google has launched a new feature called Instant Previews that allows searchers to fully preview a website within Google's search results before visiting it.

A post on the Official Google Blog explained, “Instant Previews provides a graphic overview of a search result and highlights the most relevant sections, making finding the right page as quick and easy as flipping through a magazine.”

If you click on the small magnifying glass next to the search result it highlights the result in blue and will bring up a full preview of the website on the right sidebar, which will unfortunately cover Google's ads and could hinder the clicks to the sponsored links. If you click anywhere on the preview it takes you directly to the site. You can preview this new feature here.

For example, when searching for "bail option miami" you can clearly see the blue section that is highlighted and the website preview that now covers Google's ads and other features, such as Google Places Maps:

This has big implications for organic search engine optimization as you will want searchers to find exactly what they're looking for on your site so that they do not move onto another one.

During testing, Google said that people using Instant Previews were 5 percent more likely to be satisfied with the results they clicked on because they were able to evaluate the site before visiting and find what they were looking for.

This feature is still in the roll out phase and should be available in over 40 languages shortly.
