Since the Google roll out its new and updated search infrastructure, Caffeine, the subject of how this will affect SEO has been a hot topic.
Google Caffeine was basically designed for speed. So how will “Caffeine” affect SEO Consultants and SEO Designers?
The new algorithm makes search analysis a lot faster. The Google bots can now crawl and index fresh content faster.
Officials of Google Inc claimed a “50% fresher results for web searches” therefore sites with newer and fresher content will benefit by this added value of fresh content on SEO campaigns.
Caffeine clearly favors sites that update regularly. Optimization of keywords has changed as well. The Meta keyword HTML tag that was earlier used is no longer. Instead, keywords with most relevance and density in the initial part of the content are most likely to be placed at the top of the search page.
Factors such as load speed of the website, and overall quality will also aid Google in ranking sites. Spam links on your site may cause lower rankings while social bookmarks are now playing a new role.
So what does the future hold for SEO in the new “Caffeinated” world? I guess only time will tell.
