Fluctuations in Organic Search Engine Rankings

by Jen Linnuste 14. April 2010 03:11

Hopefully by now people have realized, or maybe not,  that it takes time for your rankings in the SERPs to change. Fluctuations are inevitable but the long-term improvements in your SERPs rankings will take time to become more stable. The Search Engines need to be confident  that your site deserves the increased rankings and this can take time in order for them to fully evaluate your site’s new SEO.

There are many things that can happen during the period of adjustment before you see some real organic ranking results, they include:

  • Increase in traffic
  • Increase in External Links
  • Increase in the amount of clicks from searchers
  • Increase in age of domain
  • Increase in age of backlinks
  • Increase in PageRank
  • Increase in Internal Links
  • Increased Search Engine Trust

So remember, patience is a virtue when it comes to waiting for your organic search engine optimization to kick in, but the lasting results will be well worth the wait.
